"The Warring Twenties"
What happens when you force a geek girl to choose between Nuclear Fission and the colour Pink? In this collection Charlotte lays her arsenal of weapons at the feet of her enemies and eggs them on. Brave or stupid? Let's find out.... Come with us as we take a tour of her not-so-roaring ‘Warring Twenties’.
Charlotte not only takes you on a poetry journey, she rings the bell, clips your ticket and brings around the refreshment trolley stacked with the most delectable metaphors. If poets were particles, Charlotte would be the Higgs Boson. A remarkable talent."
Peter Roe

"Charlotte's debut collection, The Warring Twenties, is a tenderising Technicolor blast of riotous juxtapositions.
Forensic self-examination and visceral revelations are skiffully interwoven with astute commentary on both the objective nature of the cosmos and Charlotte's sometimes harrowing experience within it. The collection is suffused with a playful sense of experimental discovery and an unmistakable delight in language, form and the underlying coding of relationships - both human and non-human. An extremely powerful debut."
Tim King
Poet, Bard of Exeter 2019-21, Host of Taking The Mic
"In Charlotte's own words her first collection is 'An eternity captured within an instant'.
Charlotte's poems are an awe-inspiring constellation to lose yourself and find yourself within. Immerse yourself in this universe of extraordinary poetry and time stands still. Absorb the multiple meanings captured within the wordplay that ricochets off the page and into your heart. My life is infinitely better with these poems as a north star. Serious, humorous and life affirming, poems for every neurotype can be discovered within.
Everybody's bookshelf will be enhanced with this book in their collection!"

Poet, Author of Un/Broken, Host of Prickly Pear
Our journey with Charlotte...
Charlotte arrived in a poetry online zoom back in ....
In this, the first poetry collection from Poppy-Jayne Jones she shows us her wild self and takes us by the hand and leads us to the hidden places ‘Between Reeds’. In doing so we find ourselves in our own wild inner spaces. At once playful and probing, the lines skip and howl and sing you along, and it’s impossible not to follow. The connection to nature is utterly tangible and love in all its forms whistles through this book like something always there yet changeable as the weather.
This collection bubbles with linguistic innovation. Poppy’s startling honesty imbues each poem with a refreshing vibrancy. Intensely personal these poems offer poignant insights into universal themes.

The offer to be published by Jawbone meant so much to Charlotte
that she wrote a poem about it!

"The Warring Twenties"

I loved everything about the pre-publication journey. I felt in total control in the creative meetings when discussing my book’s ideas which I was not expecting due to working with so many other people on the project. I understood what was expected of me before the process began which made me feel at ease going into it.
Before my book was published I had little experience and confidence with performing at in-person events, but being able to stride onto a stage and proudly announce I’m published brings such a sense of confidence before delivering a set when headlining. I now feel established in what I love doing!
